I need help understanding credit card issue!?
I am having a hard time reading what I can do with this. I have been unemployed for a year and could not pay here and there. I sent Chase several letters saying that I could not pay because I was in a financial crisis and I kept trying to get them to activate my benefits. I started paying $12 a month as agreed but I was wondering if the aggreement says that they can erase my late payments which will tremendously help my score I was about 2 months late ( 60 days deliquent) on this account.
Here is what the payment plan says and I want to know if I can ask for them to erase the late payments because I did tell them I could not pay:
With this Plan, should you, your Spouse or Domestic Partner, Authorized User, or Higher Wage Earner (Covered Person(s)) encounter one of the situations listed below, your payments will be deferred and your credit rating for this Account will be protected. The Deferral Period is: (a) up ato 2 years of Involuntary Unemployment, Hospitilization
was hospitilized in February of 2007 and put on bed rest and could not work because of pregnancy I was hospitilized again
the plan also states 4 months for a life event.
I can not work right now because my son was born blind and was wondering if I could get this off my credit report because i did contact them I have letters and I have talked with many representatives there was NO WAY that I could pay I had not worked in 4 months to even pay 1 dollar.
Reversing a credit default might be difficult. You will have to make sure it is reversed.
You may have to involve the Customer relations department, Banking and Finance Ombudsman etc…
The "deferral period" and "credit rating will be protected" speak for themselves. If you have proof of correspondence and you are a covered person, make sure they remove them by asking.

In my experience, nothing a credit card company says or sends can be trusted at all. You have a small chance of winning your point IF: you did everything perfectly as you were supposed to, in advance of any deadlines, kept or can get copies, recorded names and dates of everyone you spoke to and what was said, and are willing and able to invest at least weeks of time and energy fighting like mad with every available resource.
