Is there really a way to get a FREE CREDIT REPORT online?

Tuesday

I'm so tired of filling out all my information for a "free" credit report, only to be asked for my credit card number at the end. The offer ends up being something like "first month free, cancel any time, and if you cancel before the 30 days your card will not be charged…" Well, I don't want to give my card number at all.

Missy and NunzioZ are correct.

www.annualcreditreport.com is the only site recommended by the FTC and its the only site where you can get your reports free once per year with no strings attached. You do not see your credit scores, only your credit reports.

Since you are only allowed 1 report per year from each agency, some people suggest you check one report from one agency every 4 months so you keep a closer watch on your credit history.

yes. http://www.annualcreditreport.com. It's free and you can get your credit report from Transunion, equifax, and experian each. You can do it for each one, once per year. It is not a scam and it is a legitimate website

yes at annualcreditreport.com the gov. is required to give you one free credit report a year. there are 3 major credit report distributors Transunion Equifax and Experian you just go on the site and select your state then choose from the 3 places i listed above the enter your personal info and they ask some personal questions only you would know and then you get your report no credit score tho you must pay for that. but you can get a free report from each place. Dont believe these idiots saying you HAVE to pay just go to the website and do what i said they dont ask for any credit info. but they try n trick you n make it look like you have to pay just look when the screen comes up asking if you want to buy the credit score and stuff and click no thanks i want the free report and there you go.. your free credit report. hope i helped.

Yes. You can obtain free reports (but not free scores) at http://www.annualcreditreport.com without registering for any free trials. You are limited to one report from each credit reporting agency per year.

Do NOT use the other site that requires you sign register for a "free" trial. If you are not able to cancel the trial, your credit card will be charged every month after the free period ends, potentially for the rest of your life.
