    The ONLY place where you can get a truly free credit report is at http://www.AnnualCreditReport.com

    The freecreditreport.com site is NOT a free site. You have to sign up for a "credit monitoring" service of dubious value. While you supposedly can cancel the service once you get the reports, they make it absurdly difficult to cancel during the "free" period.

    You are entitled to get a free report from each of the "Big Three" credit reporting agencies once a year. Stagger them every 4 months to stay on top of your credit.

    Note that this does NOT entitle you to a free copy of your credit score. You’ll have to pay for that, though in conjunction with the one free annual report the cost is modest, typically less than $10.
