because a growing number of illegal immigrants steal them to make themselves appear more legitimate. the government is doing a crappy job keeping up with internet crime and identity theft and it can take an individual literally years to erase the damage cause, maybe never. what should the punishment be?

Some People have been incarcerated Because of the Identity Thieves Wrongfully or Threatened with it! They Clone Vehicles and obtain traffic tickets under Your information and guess who is paying the cost for No Insurance? Department of Motor Vehicles around the Nation needs to be put in Check as well! I refused to pay the fine Because I did Have Insurance and My car has been sitting without tags for over a year. Someone Also filed Bankrupcy on a 21/2 Million Dollar home in a State I never claimed residency in! The fight is On going too.
Whatever you do, Refuse to Pay any outstanding Debts that are Not Yours. Get You credit Report Immediately. If you see a Mis-spelling of your name, a different employer or address You have Never lived at, It is an indicator that You are a Victim of Identity Theft! If Your Email address has been breeched or stolen You are a victim of Identity Theft. Report it to FBI Internet.
You can Report it to Your Local Police, Federal Trade Commission and Download form 3949A from Internal Revenue Service for a Reward of 10% for whatever they find wrong. Also Report it to United States Postal Inspectors and Social security Administrationa and also Secret Service for Financial Fraud. Report it over and Over with each Occurence. Send by Certified Mail to Federal Trade and Enlarged Color photo, fingerprints and Handwritten letter telling them everyplace you have lived, worked or gone to school. Most times the Identity Theives are low level Employees sitting right in the Credit Bureas themselves. Maybe it is time for a Class Action Law Suit.
