is it identity theft if someone uses your picture but uses a different name?

Sunday

a girl on myspace is using a lot of my pictures but she's not using my name.. is it identity theft?

People normally talk about 'identity theft' in the sense that it leads to fraud – e.g. someone using your name to run up debts in your name etc. See the article about identity theft below.

However, that doesn't mean that it's ok someone is using your photo on MySpace. I would email someone at MySpace to report that person – they should be able to block their account.

Yes, there was an article about it in People magazine. Because not everyone uses their real name on Myspace. People interpret the picture as you, whether or not its your name.

Ummm…no? she just went to your pic, and copy&paste for her own. just tell her off, and if she keeps using your pics, email myspace, or block heer from viewing your profile…
