What about credit reporting agencies that aren’t the major ones?

Thursday

We hear a lot about how to request credit reports from the three major agencies (TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian). But what about other agencies? Are there any? How can I know if my report is clear with them? Who are they? How do I know if the company I am dealing with might be using one of them? Are they considered reputable? Do I REALLY need to be worrying about them? Please advise.

There are only the three you listed. If there are others “claiming” to be reporting agencies, I would worry about them.

there is one more that I know of and I just cannot remember the name. But their scoring module is different and as has been stated no lender uses them that I know of any more but in the old sub-prime days of mortgages there was 1 lender that pulled from them as the score was higher and they would omit the one that was closes to the clients home as that one tended to be the lowest. That lender was Option One and they are no longer in operation
