Did everybody miss the point in my question about unfair credit reporting?

My point is that there are people out there getting away with ripping everybody off, especially those who started this whole business of Credit Reporting, and getting away with it while Credit Reporting is ruining so many people's lives. This was in the 70's. I wanted to send the story to the Newspaper, but my in-law didnt want to pursue it. If it was now, believe me, I would know what to do. You think the president or such will ever get bad credit even if he didnt pay his debts?

If someones life has been ruined by bad credit, well guess what? It's no body's fault but theirs.

If you want a better truth reported, you need to make a better truth in your life — pay your bills on time.
Credit reporting is a good thing for people wanting to do business with others, or to hire someone to work with their company's money. If you do not manage money well, I don't want to rent to you, sell to you, or hire you to manage my money.
I didn't really understand your whole previous story, but if someone rips you off, you should file a police report. It is a shame your in-laws did not do that and left this guy out there to rip of others. If something is reported wrong in your credit files, then you have the right to send your answer in. If you can also get the reporter to agree they were wrong and send it in, so much the better.
