What is the best free online website to use if I were to check my current credit rating? ?

Thursday

You can get a free credit report, but not a free credit score. You may not want to spend any money, but you can go to www.myfico.com, get the credit complete (all three scores and reports) for about $38 bucks. Use the promotional code “CPPsavings” to get 20% off (normal price around $46).

annualcreditreport.com is the real free site to check your credit file for free once a year. You cannot get your credit/FICO score for free…you have to pay for this.

    https://www.annualcreditreport.com/

NOT freecreditreport.com – They require a credit card and enrollment in their monthly service to get your “free credit report.”

You cannot obtain your credit score without agreeing to pay. If you use the site with the word free in its address, you are agreeing to receive a service for which your credit card will be charged every month after the trial period, for the rest of your life (or longer), unless you are able to cancel it.

You can obtain your credit report, but not your credit score, for free at http://www.annualcreditreport.com

    hi jpd,

Your credit history is maintained at 3 national credit bureaus. The information at each credit bureau can be different (and most likely will be). This is because lenders submit your credit payment history to one or a combination of all three. So one credit agencies information will be different than the next.

The credit rating or score that most lenders use is called the FICO score. And to get all three FICO scores from all three credit bureaus can only be had by MyFICO (the creators of the FICO score). All other services will give you only one FICO score or possibly 3 scores that aren’t FICO. I recommend their FICO Credit Complete package.
