What kind of credit check do police do in employment?

I was wondering if the credit check would show that other police departments checked my credit. I don’t want the police department to know that I applied to a bunch of police departments that also checked my credit, because I heard it could hurt my chances.

Generally, they simply check to see if you are up to date on your credit issues. Sometimes, bad credit (for a default on an account for example) can cost you the job.

    They don’t. Otherwise, it will only make getting employed harder than it already is.
