What information is needed to do a credit check on someone?

Friday

A possible tenant does not want to give out identity information to someone she doesn’t know. I understand that but I’d like to check her credit.

Absolutely check credit and background on all prospective tenants. If they are hesitant to give out the informtion, likely they are hiding something, and move on to the next candidate. if you are looking for the free credit report and score national site, check out this site

Full name, date of birth, social security number. If possible tenant does not want give this info up, then they probably have something to hide. A red flag should have popped into your head on this one.

You need their full name, current address, full social security number and date of birth. Also, you need to have them sign a document stating it is ok with them to do a credit check.

Any tenant knows you have to do a credit check. So this one is either an idiot or has something to hide. Forget about this one and move on.
