What do the reps at Cingular Wireless see when they do a credit check?

Thursday

I went to buy a phone two days ago and boguht a two year plan. They told me they had to check my credit first, and the lady told me that I had really good credit and it was rare to see such a high score. Do they actually see my credit score or what? Could have I asked what she was looking at?

I do not sell Cingular but many other providers. We do not actually "see" the credit score, it just puts you in a "tier of credit worthiness" I guess you can say. Not sure how Cingular works, but Nextel, Sprint, Alltel, Boost, etc. all just give you a yes or no with a deposit or not.

You can get a free copy of your credit report at http://www.annualcreditreport.com. You will have an opportunity to get all three reports for free which is federal law. To get your score, you have have to pay a small fee. Normally, what you see on the credit report is address, name, date of birth, previous residences, open credit and payment history and previous credit which may have been closed. It also shows public record information such as lawsuits where you were plaintiff or defendant. And any collection accounts. I hope this helps you.

    Good Luck
