How much is a credit check and where can you have it done online?
This is for Canada. The two companies offer a monthly or yearly fee. isnt’ there just a one time fee for ONE credit check?
You can get a free credit report once a year. If you do decide to do one online make sure to read all the small writing because sometimes they will get you. I found myself in this situation. I used www.freecreditreport.com. Thinking that this was not free I did not read through the terms and conditions. Now, a year later I found $14.95 charges on my credit card. Come to find out, it was freecreditreport.com. I looked on their website and found that if you did not cancel your membership after your first “free” credit check, you would continue to have a subscription. My advice to you would be to MAKE SURE that you read through the terms and conditions before going through with it.

Yes, you can go to a few different free credit checks where they give you a one week or month free trial. They make u put your credit card in there, so make sure you cancel after you have seen your credit immediately. If not after one month, you forget, and they charge you like $30/month. I have found this one to be good since it gives you all three credit reports.

Don’t go to freecreditreport.com – as a previous answerer will tell you, they’ll charge you for monthly monitoring.
Instead go DIRECTLY to the credit bureaus: http://www.transunion.com, http://www.equifax.com, and http://www.experian.com. They will have a link to get a copy of THEIR report for you (so, for the full picture, you’ll need to visit all three).
