How do I perform a credit check on a potential renter for my condo?

Sunday

I’m trying to rent my condo out, and I want to avoid any riff raff. How do I check someone’s credit before I rent to them? Is there some agency or some website that I can pay in order to get their credit history?

Here you can check your 3-in-1 Report from all three credit reporting agencies and your credit score.

Hope this help,

There are companies that offer this service, but it’s only available to property managers. I would suggest that you require potential tenants to provide a recent credit report. It’s free.

Definitely check their credit. Some property management companies offer this service for a fee (usually $30 or so). Check your yellow pages or online for such organizations.
Additionally, look online for your local association of property managers.
I also recommend you verify employment and also rental history with the current and former landlord.
If they are a problem, the current landlord might say they are OK just to get rid of them.
