Most lender just use one credit reporting agency and always the same one. It would help me alot to be able to match up potential lenders by CRA. Any help greatly appreciated.
Actually most lenders use 2 or even all 3! I review bank loan file for a living so I might know what I am talking about. They RARELY use only one score, because there is a good chance that the "one" may be missing something that the other ones have. What you have probably seen is that they will write down a single score on a loan application, but that is usually the highest score, the lowest score, OR the average score. Wherever you got your information is WAY off base!

I was offered a student card from citibank, around 4 years back. I was careless, the card maxed out. I ran out of money to pay off the accumulated debit and thus, defaulted. It was a small credit limit of 12k rupees ($300 I suppose). I never paid nor applied for any more cards later.
I don't want a bad credit-score, and will need one or two credit cards someday: atleast for online transactions.
So, what do i do? paying the bank now, will it help?
what is credit rating anyways? It is a number given to assess and reflect your creditworthiness. Your credit score will be a number valued from 300 to 850. While numerous factors can be attributed towards this rating, your payment and debt history are more important than others.
To start with, you shall need a copy of your credit report. If everything in the reports is good, then you can be rest assured that you will have a good credit score. Getting your credit reports is easy and pain free. Actually you are permitted one free copy of your credit report, every year. Due to relocation for employment purposes I was recently forced to surrender my mobile home back to the lender. I am now told that once they sell it I will be billed for any deficieny and that they have the right to garnish my wages. How can I protect myself not to mention my previously perfect credit rating?
After a repo, the only way they can legally garnish your wages is by filing a lawsuit and winning.
If they try to garnish without a judgment, sue them.
And, alot of what they can do after winning a judgment, as far as being paid, depends on the state statutes.
That is, if you did not sign your rights away when you surrendered the mobile home.

I just checked my FICO score (I am provided my score every month from my credit card company) and it dropped 50 points in one month. I haven't opened any new accounts, missed any payments or increased my debt so should I be concerned? Could this be indicative of idenity theft?
There is a new model of FICO called FICO 08 that's coming out. If you have been on another persons credit card as an authorized user (but not as a joint account holder) your score may drop. Also the new model places more emphasis on having different kinds of credit such as installment and revolving accounts.
And yes, you should get a complete printout so you can check for identity theft.

I had a relative use my info to obtain a credit card in my name and they put themselves on the card as an "authorized user". They have had this account open since March and I just now found out. I got a copy of my credit report from all 3 agencies and seen that nothing else has been going on except for they applied for another credit card that was denied the same day that they were approved for the one they got. They kept the account in good standing (though that is besides the point). I closed the account, changed the contact info and also password protected it. I confronted them about it and they apologized but said they were in a tight and needed a credit card for gas/bills and could not get approved themselves. They agreed to pay back the current balance. Anyway, I am undecided on what to do, I don't want to see them in trouble but I do want them to learn a lesson. What is the statute of limitations on identity theft in Texas incase I do decide to file charges?
Thanks.

I am applying for a mortgage and I am wondering what details banks see when thy do a credit check. Do they see who you own money and how much? Or do they just see like a numbered rating?
Could you also please explain any terms that might come up, such as certain capacities and what all that means?
you need to get hold of your own report so you can see for yourself.
Yes they see who you owe money to, how much, for how long and whether you are making the agreed repayments on time. I seem to remember there's a numbered rating for each month's repayments with, say, 0 indicating a late payment, 1 indicating payment made on time, etc. It will also list your county court judgments if any, and any defaults.
But do get hold of your own report so you know what the bank will be seeing. It's only £2 from

I know some of the credit checking websites let you dispute online. I'm starting to fix my credit and I need to dispute mistakes online.
You need to contact the credit reporting agencies individually. You can get your credit reports for free via www.AnnualCreditReport.com and then you can follow the instructions as to how to challenge anything on the reports.
